Profile of a graduate
ENIB graduates are general systems engineers. Through the systematic combination of computer science, mechanics, automation and electronics, they are able to analyse, design, build and assess complex, innovative and sustainable solutions for partial or entire projects, either alone or in a team, in France or abroad.
Whether joining an existing team or launching a new business, ENIB engineers apply their versatility and creativity to a wide variety of economic sectors. They show initiative and are adaptable and independent. They take economic factors into account and are equipped to rapidly respond to new challenges. ENIB engineers know how to integrate into a new workplace, form teams, use their network and discern their need for training. They communicate fluently within their teams, whether French or international. They are civic-minded engineers who strive to work responsibly, ethically and with a critical mind. They are prepared for an evolving career and are prepared to pursue their education through complementary studies (managerial, marketing, etc.) or a PhD.
Skill sets approach
This profile corresponds to 7 skill sets that can be further divided into 24 final learning outcomes (AATs). AATs are progressively acquired during the programme through many hands-on activities (projects, lab work, internships, and work-study opportunities), interdisciplinarity, the regular inclusion of human, economic, legal and social science aspects, and small class sizes in the majority of subjects. This skill set approach aims to develop students’ independence and to promote interdisciplinarity within the general engineering profession.
Each subject is associated with specific targeted learning outcomes (AAVs) which contribute to the progressive acquisition of AATs. The latter are evaluated according to criterion-based tables, and it is essential to acquire the necessary AAVs in order to pass each semester.
