Description

Manage:

  1. Arithmetic combinatorial numerical circuits
  2. Sequential digital circuits:
  • Latchs and flip-flop,
  • Memory, counting and offset functions,
  • Simple state machine
  1. Description methods (Transition tables, State graphs, Chronograms) and design methods (synchronous and asynchronous)
  2. Simulation of Digital Circuits (Labs)

Learning Outcomes AAv (AAv)

  • AAv1 [heures:16, B3, C1, C2] : At the end of this course, the student will manage the digital coding of numbers (binary and complement to 2) and will be able to describe, analyze and use arithmetic circuits (from simple adder to UAL). The student will be able to write the logical equations and analyze the functioning of a latch and a flip-flop, from their description (textual formulation, table of operation and evolution, chronogram, graph of states, etc.).

  • AAv2 [heures:42, C1, C2, C3, D2] : At the end of this course, the student will be able to use a technical datasheet of a sequential circuit, to describe its functional behavior and distinguish the synchronous and asynchronous blocks, in order to allow its integration into a digital system. He will manage the methods of analysis and design of memory, counting and offset functions. He will be able to design a simple state machine according to the specifications. The functioning of the realized digital systems will be validated with the LTSPICE simulation tool.

Assessment methods

The AAv will be validated by the following assessments:

  • A long continuous test
  • Several short continuous tests
